This book is about solo mothering: the choices available for assisted conception, adoption and fostering, and the pros & cons of each option. Eleven chapters cover from first steps through raising confident children to preparing for the empty nest.

The book's basic premises are that support networks are essential for confident parenting, and that openness and honesty are essential for our children to grow up comfortable with their origins.
